A: First, to understand business communication we must ask what is communication.
Communication is sending or receiving a message in writting, spoken or non-verbal form to another person or group of people. For communication to occur we must have a sender and a receiver. When there is a transfer of any type of information we call this communication and it is a vital part of our everyday life. In Business Communication, the process is the same, except there is a transfer of information relating to the need for a product or service to solve a current challenge or problem.
Q: Why is Business Communication so important ?
A: I know you are saying it is just the exchange of words or a message from one party to another and if we miss it we can just get it repeated. That would be true if it was a computer and the line was busy or a collision occured, the information would just be resent. However, in the real world since other factors become affected,, such as confidence and feelings we need to be great listeners or we won't have people with which to communicate.
Q: What do I mean that we have to me good listeners.?
A: Ok, if a computer gets a busy signal it will try until it gets the right of way; however with people they aren't revolving doors. If they see that the communication link is being exploited the connection is immediately terminated and access to prevsiously available areas becomes restricted.
